22 May

After waddling back to our hotel, we got a good night's sleep and drove on the next day. We stopped for lunch in Lancelin at a very windy spot on the beach on our way to our next stop at Geraldton. Some of our sights from the drive: wildlife crossing signs, we saw roos and emus, but not echidna. Leaning trees, they all do this from the prevailing wind, but this one has a sign. Sunset in Gero...our hotel was right up from the beach as you can see. We got another amazing view of sunset over the water.

  1. You can definitely tell who the Alaskan and who the Australian is in the top picture. Bit chilly on the beach for Jessie? What fun sight seeing and delicious eating.

  2. The wind was kinda chilly, we ended up sitting at a more sheltered spot. But the sun was warm and the food was pretty good, I had salt and pepper squid.

  3. Wow! The adventure continues. Emus and Leaning Trees - how cool is THAT? Not your average road trip!

  4. Save me from squid and wind that causes big trees to eternally bow! Can't wait to see what's next...

  5. Just wait till I get to our camping trip! And Amy, squid is soooooo good fried salt and pepper style, you have to try it sometime. These were even giant rings, at home they would have been tough as. Here on the coast they were tender and so tasty. Yum!

  6. You could tempt me. I've had it rubber band style, and don't care for that.

  7. I could share delicious tender squid with you next time you visit too. That's one of mine and Jason's fav's, happy hour down on the beachfront with some tender calamari and a beer.
