Cheers!

Happy Birthday Zoe!!!
We couldn't resist such a good excuse for champagne! Chris was very hungry for pizza before his trip back north, so he shoveled out the oven and wood while I threw together some pizza dough and fixings. Just a small party with a few toppings but still yummy!

Legos

On our trip to Los Angeles, we went to Disneyland, the beach, Medieval Times dinner theater, the imaginarium and pool time at the hotel. But I think this was the place that made them most excited....

In the shopping district attached to Disneyland, is a Lego store. I think we must have spent over an hour drooling over the cool lego sets and sculptures made from legos. The kids had to have their picture taken with several of them, but I think these giant bricks are the best!

Love

Just feelin' the love. A dozen pink roses from my darling husband for our anniversary, along with wine and cheese curds! For the both of us, pretty pink tulips from Lorna. So pretty!

No pictures yet of the surf & turf feast shared with family, I will post on that when they arrive.

Par-tay!

Abbie's disco birthday party was yesterday, she had a lot of fun with a few friends from school and some family too! We snacked, danced and opened presents, and of course, had Leigh's best birthday cake! This time with chocolate frosting and gold and silver dust (to match the disco theme). I will recommend the sparkle dust and sparkle gel from Wilton. They didn't add any funny flavors to the cake and still looked good.

...now on to the clean up and anniversary surf and turf!

Birthday girl

Today is the last day of school before spring break(we just got 10 inches of snow, better to say semester break!) Abbie's birthday will fall during spring break, so we celebrated with her class today. I asked her if she wanted cupcakes, cookies, popsicles, doughnuts, rolls or naan. She didn't get excited about anything until I mentioned popcorn. Fresh popped with butter and salt. Her teacher was surprised we brought in something so healthy! It was a hit with her class, we brought in good sized bowls to serve in, but most kids even had seconds. I took in my largest stock pot and came home with about 3 inches in the bottom. Pretty good for 20 kids and 3 adults! Abbie decided she could take care of that:

Popcorn with cheese!!

Pink

HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU DON'T EAT YOUR MEAT??!!!!!
Alright so this was pudding AND meat, but still......

We had roast for dinner the other day and were woefully short of good bread. A must with meat for dinner for us! After my adventures with popovers, I decided to try Yorkshire pudding. I used the recipe from Alton Brown, cut in half. Liam and us grown-ups loved it. (Abbie decided to have her bread a little less egg-y.) Yorkshire pudding is a giant popover made with meat drippings. It tasted like a bread and gravy cloud. I will definitely be making it again.

Kyle was having fun with the camera, but this went well with dinner.
