We couldn't resist such a good excuse for champagne! Chris was very hungry for pizza before his trip back north, so he shoveled out the oven and wood while I threw together some pizza dough and fixings. Just a small party with a few toppings but still yummy!

ReplyDeleteSweet! Amy and I opened a 375 ml of New Mexico Gruet Brut (our wedding sparkler in a smaller bottle) in the hospital room last night. I brought the bottle but no glasses - had to use a styrofoam cup from the snack room. But it was the spirit of the thing. Amy had a sip with me and then I really enjoyed the rest!
ReplyDeleteHow nice! Our sparkling was not as quality, but I had mine with a shot of home-made blueberry liquor. Pay no attention to the styrofoam, it is not the cup but what is inside that counts. Did the hospital make you a nice dinner? When Liam was born they brought us a nice dinner for two with candlelight and flowers...after Abbie the hospital here sent us home with a picnic basket of goodies.
ReplyDeleteNot so much with the food at the hospital. I got whatever the day's "regular diet" meal was, and David was left to forage for himself. Now, he's foraging for both of us in our own kitchen!

ReplyDeleteThe photographer was Liam! He did an excellent job! Too bad about the mediocre hospital food, at least you have lots of easy and good provisions at home...and birthday cake! I've been thinking about cake.
