They are usually fine, we supplement light for them and bump up their calories. I found a partially eaten egg in there yesterday. I think that is more likely what is going on. They are nearing the end of their laying years anyway, it may be time for the stock pot soon!
My local chicken friends indicate their ladies usually take a winter vacation. Looks like yours do, too!
